What does the future look like? No one can really say but I’ve been around long enough to see trends and take note of upward spikes. I’ll bring to the surface those head-scratching thoughts that rattle your brain at night. We’ll ponder the advancements of our age and determine how they relate to our industry.
Join me as we design the future.

Medicine is already there and it’s improving patient care, increasing the quality of the in-office visit and generating revenue. FOR CHIROPRACTORS, MLiQ IS READY WHEN YOU ARE.
THE STUDY
RPM will be the new standard of care, a new study says WebCareHealth CEO Dr. Teresa Sick unpacks the results of the report about remote patient monitoring's abilities to find gaps in care, improve patient engagement, enhance the provider experience and boost revenue.
The survey suggests that 40% of physician offices leverage RPM today, with nearly 70% of those practices reporting improvements in patient engagement, satisfaction and increased revenue associated with ability to create capacity for higher intensity office visits. What will it take for more providers to adopt RPM?
The goal of our Remote Patient Management System is to provide the doctor with these 3 things.
As a student of Walt Disney’s management style, I learned that SYSTEMS are critical for efficiency, ensuring repeatable high-quality outcomes, and stabilizing basic functions allowing a business to take on new ventures while reducing risk. However, there is a difference between having redundant systems and redundancy. You should build patient education into your SYSTEMS, but sitting in a report room giving out the same redundant information to every new patient is a soul-sucking, waste of time.
One of the biggest wastes of redundant time is training staff. If you’re the person who does it, sometimes it’s good, sometimes, not so much.
MLiQ and Dr. Riekeman have put a STAFF INTRODUCTION/TRAINING PROGRAM together for you. We cover basic chiropractic principles, how to answer questions, patient education and so much more (Hours of information). Then you train the new staff on their role in your office.
Just another way MLiQ is helping you design the future.
...Remember when you could keep your patient care forms on a 5x6 index card?
...Remember when you filed insurance forms by hand?
...Remember when your patients' health records didn’t include the word electronic?
...Remember when you processed films with chemical dip tanks and stored them on shelves in a room?
...Remember when patients paid for visits with a check or cash at a front desk?
Do I need to keep going to make the point? Well, here it is…
Patients' records are now EHR and insurance is filed electronically. The patient makes appointments and reschedules with an app, and everything from X-rays to patient exams are handled via technology and stored in the cloud; even patient reports, questions, and recommendations for care can be done online or in-person via Zoom. I get there are a few docs still doing their billing by hand and sending out notices from an IBM typewriter, but you’d be hard-pressed to find them.
What’s next? COVID-19 made that quite clear. In 2016 there were 350,000 virtual visits to docs; last year there were 1,000,000,000 (that’s 1 billion). Remote Patient Management is the new standard of care. That doesn’t mean docs won’t be seeing patients for in-office visits. What it means is that we will need to be managing patient care, questions, referrals, education, communications, etc. via Remote Patient Management and that will be accomplished with an app that the patient can access 24/7.
